Cubify stores the following information locally on your device using secure local storage (SharedPreferences):

  • Solve Times and Statistics: Your solve history, best times, averages (Ao5, Ao12), and personal records
  • Solve Details: Scrambles, penalties (+2 seconds, DNF), and discipline information
  • App Preferences: Your theme preference (light, dark, or auto), inspection mode settings, and other app configuration choices
  • Discipline Selection: Your preferred puzzle type (2x2, 3x3, 4x4, etc.)

Important: All this data is stored exclusively on your device. We do not have access to this information, and it is never transmitted to our servers or any third parties.

1.2 Information We Do NOT Collect

Cubify does not collect, store, or transmit:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
  • Location data
  • Device identifiers or advertising IDs
  • Analytics or usage tracking data
  • Crash reports or error logs
  • Any data that could identify you personally

2. How We Use Information

Since all data is stored locally on your device, we do not use, process, or access any of your information. The app functions entirely offline, and your solve data remains private to you.

3. Data Storage and Security

All data is stored locally on your device using the device's secure storage system (SharedPreferences on Android, UserDefaults on iOS). This data:

  • Remains on your device and is never transmitted
  • Is protected by your device's built-in security measures
  • Can be deleted by uninstalling the app

We do not maintain any servers or databases that store your information.

4. Third-Party Services

Cubify uses the following third-party services:

  • Google Fonts: Fonts are bundled locally in the app for offline use. No data is sent to Google Fonts when using the app.
  • App Store / Play Store: When you download the app, you are subject to Apple's or Google's privacy policies. We do not receive any information from these platforms.
  • External Links: The app may open links to Instagram, email, or app store pages. These are opened in your default browser or email app, and we do not track or collect information about these interactions.

5. Children's Privacy

Cubify is suitable for users of all ages. Since we do not collect any personal information, we comply with all applicable children's privacy laws, including the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

6. Your Rights

Since all your data is stored locally on your device, you have complete control:

  • Access: All your data is accessible within the app's Statistics section
  • Delete: You can delete individual solves or clear all data by uninstalling the app
  • Export: You can export your statistics and averages using the Export button in the Statistics section. This copies the text data to your device's clipboard, allowing you to paste it into other applications. The export feature only copies data locally to your clipboard and does not transmit any information externally.

7. Data Retention

Your solve data and preferences are retained on your device until you:

  • Delete individual solves within the app
  • Clear the app's data through your device settings
  • Uninstall the app

We do not retain any data on our servers, as we do not operate any servers for this purpose.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

  • Posting the new Privacy Policy on this page
  • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
  • Informing you through the app if significant changes are made

You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.

9. International Users

Cubify is used by speedcubers worldwide. Since we do not collect or process any personal data, we comply with international privacy regulations including:

  • General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) - European Union
  • California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) - United States
  • Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) - Canada
